Guidelines for Addressing Customer Harassment
1. Conduct Covered by These Guidelines
In accordance with the Corporate Manual for Customer Harassment Countermeasures issued by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Company defines customer harassment as conduct by customers, business partners, users and other parties (hereinafter “customers”) that harms the working environment of our employees, where the substance of the demand lacks reasonableness, or where the means or manner used to realize the demand exceeds the limits generally accepted by society in light of the nature of the employee's duties and other circumstances.
- Psychological attacks (intimidation, defamation, injury to reputation, abusive language, insults)
- Physical attacks (assault, bodily harm)
- Intimidating words or behavior
- Demands to kneel in apology
- Persistent or repeated words or behavior
- Discriminatory or sexual words or behavior
- Conduct that infringes privacy
- Excessive or unreasonable demands
The above are illustrative examples and are not exhaustive.
2. Our Response
The Company engages with its customers in good faith and values constructive relationships. However, where the Company determines that conduct falls within the scope of these guidelines, we may decline to provide our services or support.
Internally, the Company is also putting in place the following framework for responding to customer harassment.
- Establishing a customer harassment consultation desk and communicating the consultation process
- Working with external specialist organizations to respond more appropriately
- Ensuring the safety of, and providing mental health care for, employees affected by customer harassment
- Providing training on how to respond to customer harassment
3. A Request to Our Customers
The Company places relationships of trust with its customers first, and will continue to devote itself wholeheartedly to providing better services. We kindly ask for your understanding of, and cooperation with, this policy.
Information Security Policy
1. Purpose
Howtelevision, Inc. (the “Company”) recognizes that maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information assets handled through its business activities, and protecting them appropriately from external and internal threats, is the foundation of business continuity and social trust. The Company therefore establishes this policy.
2. Scope of Application
This policy applies to the officers and employees of the Company and to all persons engaged in the business of the Company. It covers all information assets held or managed by the Company and all information systems that process them.
3. Management Structure
The Company appoints a person responsible for information security and maintains a cross-organizational management structure. The details of the management structure are set out in subordinate regulations.
4. Risk Management
The Company evaluates the threats and vulnerabilities affecting its information assets and implements appropriate measures commensurate with the scale of the risk. Risk assessments are conducted periodically and whenever a significant change in the environment occurs.
5. Legal Compliance
The Company complies with the laws, regulations and contractual obligations relating to information security. In the event of an incident, the Company fulfills its statutory reporting obligations and discloses information in a timely manner to the affected parties.
6. Education and Awareness
The Company continuously provides education and awareness activities on information security to all persons subject to this policy, thereby raising security awareness.
7. Continuous Improvement
The Company periodically evaluates the effectiveness of this policy and of the related regulations and measures, and makes continuous improvements. This policy is reviewed in response to changes in the business environment or in threats.
